Description
"People can have the best outfits but zero personality and be an asshole."
Welcome to this weeks episode, where I changed the intro music again because I keep hating it, and I’ve finally uploaded something I recorded late last year (I’m sorry). Procrastination has hit hard, and I keep cringing at myself. Nonetheless I wanted to share my take on societies focus on outer appearance, which has gotten more prevalent in the wake of Ozempic and the normalisation of cosmetic surgeries.
I focus on how clothing changes the way we’re perceived, the constant urge to self-optimise and changing beauty standards make it hard to love the appearance we've been given.
To put it in simple terms: the obsession with how we look has gotten to a point that I find extremely unhealthy, and everyone has started to look the same. You might feel it's necessary to look like that one clean girl on Instagram, who wakes up at five a.m. to got to a pilates class; who got fillers and botox way too early and wears matching workout sets only. But trust me, you don’t.
