Lightning vs. Kraken Tonight | Kucherov Chasing History & Dominic James Returns | Daily Strike - October 15, 2026

The Tampa Bay Lightning are back on home ice tonight as they welcome the Seattle Kraken to Benchmark International Arena. On today's Daily Strike, Steve Versnick previews the matchup as the Bolts look to bounce back from their loss to the New York Rangers and begin another winning streak. The Lightning have enjoyed plenty of success against Seattle since the Kraken entered the NHL, posting an 8-0-2 all-time record and never losing to them in regulation. Tonight also begins a stretch of seven consecutive games against Western Conference opponents and ten of the next eleven overall. Several Lightning players enter the game on milestone watch. Nikita Kucherov sits just six points away from passing Steven Stamkos as the franchise's all-time leading scorer, while Anthony Cirelli is set to tie Tyler Johnson for 10th place on the franchise games played list. Ryan McDonagh is also closing in on fourth place in NHL history in blocked shots, and Ilya Mikheyev needs just one goal to reach 100 for his NHL career. The Lightning also welcomed back forward Dominic James, who has been recalled from the Syracuse Crunch after recovering from a broken hand that sidelined him throughout Training Camp and the opening weeks of the season.
