EP 002: The Police Come A-Knockin'

Kindergarten arrives, Veronica briefly clocks back into motherhood, and suddenly everybody gets to experience her unique management style: do none of the work, maintain all of the authority, and demand to speak to the manager when the people actually raising your kid stop taking orders. After Marco’s dad and I scramble to get him enrolled in school, Veronica discovers that parenting apparently involves inconvenient things like showing up, picking up your own child, and participating on days that aren’t specifically designed for photo opportunities. And when she doesn’t get her way? Naturally, the police come a-knockin’. A welfare check brings two officers to my front door, introduces Veronica to the address I very much did not want her to have, and kicks off one hell of a coincidence: four days later, my car window is smashed. Can I prove she had anything to do with it? Nope. Do I have thoughts? Boy, do I.
