The Rise, Fall and Return of Lacan (feat. Judith Gurewich)

I am pleased to welcome Judith Gurewich, a pioneering figure in the introduction and development of Lacanian thought in the United States for a wide-ranging conversation on her work and insights into Lacanian psychoanalysis. Trained as a sociologist at Brandeis University and a practicing Lacanian psychoanalyst, Gurewich has played a central role in shaping the landscape of psychoanalytic publishing and theoretical production in America. We discuss her intellectual and professional trajectory, from her early engagement with Lacan to her work as a publisher and analyst, and reflect on the continued relevance of Lacanian theory today.
