A Trek Head’s Journey with Will Polk

Join Trekkie and Trekker as they welcome Will Polk -- a lifelong Star Trek fan, podcaster, and host of Scene N’ Nerd -- for a conversation about the stories, characters, and experiences that shaped his journey through the final frontier. Will shares memories of growing up with a locally produced “Star Trek Hour,” seeing The Motion Picture and The Wrath of Khan in theaters, and discovering the power of representation through Benjamin Sisko and Deep Space Nine. Together, we explore James T. Kirk’s evolution, DS9’s rich characters and storytelling, the complicated appeal of Dukat and Garak, and why Star Trek must keep boldly reinventing itself for new generations. Along the way, Will imagines his dream Trek series, chooses his must-have Trek technology, faces some rapid-fire dilemmas, and introduces us to another name for the fandom: #TrekHead. It’s an episode about nostalgia, representation, reinvention, and the many ways Star Trek travels with us throughout our lives.
