Description
On this episode of Campus Conversations, University President Bill Pink is joined by Director of Financial Aid Heather Stewart, Alumni Dr. Emily Coles, and Director of CAPS Angela Roman to discuss the cost of college, financial aid, and the value of building connections.
Emily Cole talks about her experience as a parent of a current freshman. She says that Ferris has allowed her child to build so many new connections. She emphasizes that connections are one of the most valuable things that can come out of college and can allow you to do what you want to do in life. Angela Roman discusses the importance of career planning, which includes resume writing and practicing interviewing, networking, and going to career expos, and developing professional skills early. Heather Stewart discusses making college more affordable through the use of scholarships and financial aid. She brings up TIP, the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, and how asking financial aid for help can reduce the cost of tuition.
