It’s this episode of Funny You Should Ask we’re talking to standup comedian and festival founder JOANNA BRILEY! We cover hiring women (duh!), learning as you go, protecting your self-care and mental health, and sooooo much more! Joanna founded the Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest: https://www.instagram.com/bwiclafffest/?hl=en FIND JOANNA: IG - https://www.instagram.com/joannambriley/?hl=en Website - https://www.jokesistas.com/ Conversation originally recorded on 02/09/22. Funny You Should Ask pulls back the curtain on comedy with candid, funny, and surprisingly personal conversations. Hosted by GOLD founder Lynn Harris, this podcast features candid, behind-the-scenes Q&As with artists like Maria Bamford, Jonterri Gadson, Flash Rosenberg, and Shaun Cassidy (yes, that one!)—plus real questions from real working comics. It’s honest. It’s generous. It’s occasionally unhinged. And it’s designed to help you do better work—and feel less alone doing it. Executive Produced by Lynn Harris (IG), GOLD Comedy (IG, TT, YT) Produced by Maggie Scudder (IG, TT) Edited by Teresa-Esmeralda Sanchez (IG) Music by Megan Phillips (IG), Sam MacKinnon (IG) Special thanks to Allison Rinehart, Erin Keating, Ami Vora.
