RE-WIND: The Dullahan: Irish Mythology, The Headless Horseman & the Celtic Legend of Death | Halloween Special

Just three days before Halloween, we're bringing back a terrifying classic! Originally released on October 30, 2023, this special episode of Generation X Paranormal returns on October 28, 2026 — almost three years to the day after its original release! We're taking a little breather after our recent adventure to Scotland, but we couldn't leave you without something special for Halloween. So, while we recover from our travels, join Logan and Nicole for another ride into the dark world of Irish mythology and Celtic folklore. Meet The Dullahan, Ireland's legendary headless horseman — a terrifying supernatural figure dressed in black who rides a jet-black steed through the countryside, carrying his own severed head and calling out the names of those whose time has come. But where did this chilling legend originate? Is the Dullahan simply a figure of ancient Irish folklore, or could there be something more behind the stories? In this classic episode, we explore the origins of the Dullahan, its connections to the Celtic deity Crom Dubh, and the chilling tales of reported encounters in Ireland. We also examine the relationship between the Dullahan, the Banshee, and the Grim Reaper, along with the Scottish legend of Owen the Headless and the evolution of the Headless Horseman made famous by Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
