087: What If Asking For Help Does Not Mean Something Is Broken

SEP 15, 202635 MIN

Description

You almost reached out, then something stopped you. Maybe you told yourself it was not “bad enough” yet, maybe you worried it would turn into a sales pitch, or maybe you did the familiar thing and carried it alone because you are the strong one and everyone relies on you. I want to slow that moment down and tell the truth about it: that hesitation is often protection, not weakness, and it usually has a very specific fear underneath it. We walk through the real list women carry but rarely say out loud: fear of pressure and pushy marketing, fear that naming the problem makes the marriage “broken,” fear it will be your fault, fear it has to be a crisis to deserve help, fear of wasting time or money again, fear he will not participate, and the deepest one for many people, fear of hope. I also explain what my work is and is not: not a diagnosis, not accountability scoring, not a verdict on you or your partner. This is relationship coaching through the lens of relationship and communication healing, including ontological coaching, focused on being understood, hearing yourself clearly, and creating real shifts that can start with just you. You will leave with grounded questions to sit with during the week, especially the one that changes everything: is your fear protecting you, or is it protecting the relationship staying exactly as it is, even the parts that hurt? If you want a small next step, take my free relationship needs quiz at needs.drhawks.com (needs.drhks.com), and if it puts words to what you have been carrying, reach out for a private, confidential conversation at contact.drdarhawks.com.
