Description

What if your purpose driven business started with solving one small problem for one person you care about? This is the story of jewelry for hearing aids - Auzi. Auzi co-founder Daniela Groza shares how a birthday gift became a brand and what it took to keep believing in their mission.  When jewelry designer Daniela Groza’s partner asked if she could make jewelry for his hearing aids, she didn’t immediately think business idea. But after months of experimenting, Daniela and her partner discovered an entire community of people decorating their hearing aids and talking about how the traditional beige, medical-looking devices didn’t feel like them. That discovery eventually became Auzi, a jewelry brand helping people turn their hearing aids into something visible and proudly part of their personal style. The part of Daniela’s story I especially love is that she took a skill she already had, noticed how it could make a difference to one person, and followed it. On the podcast Her First Three Years, Daniela shares what building a purpose driven business actually looked like behind the scenes—from starting a jewelry business from home and posting almost every day without knowing what would work, to waiting three months for their first sale. She also talks about working directly with the Deaf community, learning from customer feedback and building a purpose driven business strategy around something bigger than aesthetics: confidence and self-expression. In this founder story podcast episode: How Daniela and her partner turned a birthday gift of jewelry into a brand What three months without a single sale taught her about visibility How listening to the Deaf community has influenced Auzi’s development Why negative comments made Daniela doubt herself—and what she chose to take from that feedback instead The vision for Auzi in the next few years Listen for... inspiration! Especially if you’ve ever wondered whether your idea is important enough or if you should keep going.  Because sometimes your purpose driven business starts with just believing in in the mission! About the Guest: Daniela Groza is a jewelry designer and co-founder of Auzi, a jewelry brand creating bespoke pieces for hearing aids. Her relationship with jewelry started at just 12 years old, when she began making pieces for friends and family and sharing her designs on a Facebook page called Danny’s Jewels. She later studied jewelry at university, where sustainability, symbolism, body acceptance, and creating pieces with a deeper purpose became central to her work. That background collided with something deeply personal when her partner—who has worn hearing aids since childhood—asked her to create a piece for his hearing aid. He had spent years trying to make his hearing loss less visible. Now, Daniela says, he proudly wears his pieces, talks about them and shows them off.
