DARK TIMES all of a sudden here in Philly-land! How'd we get so backwards so quickly, EH? I thought the Eagles going to London-town was gonna be a good bounce back game! NO! IT WAS NOT! We are Hurt(s) about it. Is the hot stove warming up for Nick? Or do we just need our injury list to be a little shorter than the original Infinite Jest manuscript? Time will tell - up next, back home against the Panthers. It's during my neighborhood's block party and we'll be watching it outside. Please do not ruin my day. UP NEXT IT'S (checks notes) - oh crap, it's the Flyers. Man, what to say about a winless team about 10% through their season? I guess that there's 90% of the season left? But you gotta start with a WIN! Getting OT points is nice and all, but we have the least amount of points in the league. Ok, i'm done for now. Let's get another week of games in and hope to convert a win in one of em! And then - shining over the mountaintop - it's the SIXERS SAVING US! What a WEEK. Once again, Jeff has a night out at a game in North Jersey, where the Philly team loses (the Flyers v Devils) and the Phillies get eliminated from the postseason. AGAIN. Folks - honestly - we're out of breath. We're hustling all over the Philly and NYC area trying to get our SPORTS in. But we found some time to get you another hot cup of pod. We delve into the - dare i say, improbable? - entry of the Phillies into the postseason. Game 1 against the Braves looked like it MIGHT go our way - until an Austin Riley homer put it out of reach late. This is it. Today is the day. Win to stay alive for another game, or go home with TONS of questions lingering over their heads. 2pm Eastern today, tune in folks. And then - simply out of professional duty - we cover the Eagles latest matchup against the CASE KEENUM Bears. Well folks, it turns out I shouldn't have mocked Case because he played like prime Drew Brees on Monday night. EEESH so much criticism to spread around - which we did - but ultimately we FLUSH this one and get ourselves back to the Linc. Against...check notes...THE RAMS? Will it be a get-right game? I couldn't nail it down to one title - there are NO RULES in the pod-a-verse. Different from the man-o-sphere, trust us. We convene once more, at the nadir of the baseball season...to find that our Phillies are NOT YET in the playoffs. And they need to win 2 of the next 4! Or not! And then get help to get in! WHAT THE HELL. We assess where this team is at as we are hurtling towards the playoffs....and to what end? Will the Phils catch fire and cause some damage in October? Will I be able to use the rally towels I've been collecting over the last few years? WE SHALL FIND OUT - but until then, let's fret about the undefeated Eagles. Why not, it's a Philly tradition! Sure, we've talked about QB1 and how WINNING he is, but Jeff goes nuts about the Slim Reaper and Don Wick....calls them the best duo EVER at WR (Mike calms him down). But now we are headed to Chi town for a (previously) big matchup against the....ahem....Case Keenum-led Bears. Let's go 3-0, bro.
