Description
SPURS FANS, THAT WAS UGLY!
The Oklahoma City Thunder came into San Antonio and beat the Spurs 116-104 on opening night, and Mike Taylor and Rudy Jay are NOT holding back!
Victor Wembanyama had a nightmare shooting performance, the new three-guard starting lineup looked completely out of sync, and Mitch Johnson has some serious questions to answer.
The guys break down everything that went wrong, from Wemby's refusal to establish himself in the post to the Spurs' lack of reliable outside shooting and a second unit struggling to find its identity.
Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder looked every bit like a championship contender. OKC's size, depth, shooting, and ability to control the game left Mike and Rudy wondering just how far the Spurs have to go.
It's only ONE game out of 82, but that doesn't mean the guys are giving San Antonio a free pass!

KEY MOMENTS:
Wembanyama finishes with 13 rebounds, six blocks, and 10 made free throws, but his 1-for-13 shooting performance leaves the guys questioning his offensive development.
Rudy compares Wemby's current approach to Kevin Garnett rather than Tim Duncan, arguing that the Spurs need their franchise player to become a more reliable offensive leader.
Mike calls the three-guard starting lineup a failure on opening night and questions how the changes affect Champagnie, the bench, and the team's overall balance.
The guys debate whether Dylan Harper could eventually become the Spurs' best offensive player and whether that would actually help Wembanyama.
Oklahoma City's depth and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's scoring leave Mike and Rudy convinced the Thunder are the team to beat.
The live chat pushes back against the criticism, reminding everyone that it's only one game. Mike and Rudy agree, but insist the problems deserve attention NOW.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE SPURS?
The guys aren't writing off the season after one loss. They're watching how Mitch Johnson handles the rotation, whether Wembanyama changes his offensive approach, and how quickly the Spurs can establish an identity.
The next In the Building Spurs postgame show is planned for Saturday following the matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.
