Description
The night before his mom started chemo, Charlie went looking for a video of her. He had 30,000 photos and 1,500 videos on his phone. Not one of her longer than seven seconds.
Charlie Greene was ten when his father died on September 11th. His parents bought a camcorder two weeks before he was born, so his first decade exists on about a hundred hours of tape. For the memorial, his family could find eight digitized photos of his dad.
Years later his mother was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer. He sat down and asked her about her life, and afterwards he asked why he was only hearing these stories now. She said she didn't think he cared.
He did care. He had never done anything to show her.
That conversation became Remento. His mother survived.
