Fire and Folklore: The Burning of Bridget Cleary – Revisited Halloween Special 🎃 In March 1895, in a small village in County Tipperary, 26-year-old Bridget Cleary became the victim of one of the most disturbing crimes in Irish history. Her husband believed she had been taken by the fairies and replaced by a changeling. What followed was a shocking tragedy that would make headlines far beyond Ireland and leave Bridget's name forever associated with the darker side of Irish folklore. For this special Halloween upload, we're revisiting an episode originally released in January 2024, now featuring an atmospheric original musical score composed by James Hanly of South East Technological University (SETU). James's music brings a new dimension to Bridget's story, and I'm delighted to have another opportunity to showcase the talent of SETU's students.
