376 - Prepare for the Yankees Excuse Machine, fans

Yankee fans know it well.  The empty excuses forthcoming that don't actually address the real issues.   The Yankees don’t just lose in October, they explain it away. I'm getting ahead of the press-conference script and talking straight to Yankees fans who are tired of hearing the same polished excuses after the same painful postseason result, especially with a looming ALDS showdown against the Tampa Bay Rays. I dig into the core problems that don’t fit neatly into a sound bite: roster construction that leaves too many lineup holes, patience that turns into stubbornness, and a talent-evaluation process that keeps “running it back” instead of fixing obvious needs. I call out the positions where the Yankees look thin, how small hot streaks create recency bias, and why a massive payroll doesn’t matter if your everyday lineup can be pitched through when October arms show up. Then I get into leadership. I question Aaron Boone’s postseason track record, the overreliance on matchup lanes, and what it means when a manager seems unable or unwilling to adjust in real time. I also take a hard look at Brian Cashman’s long-term approach, the lack of meaningful offseason upgrades, and why “internal audits” and vague promises don’t move the franchise any closer to a World Series title. If you want honest Yankees talk, not platitudes, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a frustrated fan friend, and leave a review with the one change you’d make first.
