The Game Show GOAT | JJMW-E515

Who belongs on the Mount Rushmore of game show hosts? In this episode of JJ Meets World, JJ and Tucker revisit the personalities who defined game shows across generations, including Bob Barker, Alex Trebek, Pat Sajak, Vanna White, Richard Dawson, Mark Summers, Gene Rayburn, Steve Harvey, Drew Carey, and Howie Mandel. They debate longevity, personality, controversy, celebrity, and what separates a true game show host from a celebrity who simply gets hired to host one. The conversation also becomes a trip through classic television, from The Price Is Right, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Match Game, and Deal or No Deal to Nickelodeon favorites like Double Dare, GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? JJ shares stories about meeting Mark Summers, a Fargo connection to the original Double Dare sets, brushing past Greg Lee as a kid, and why game show parodies like 30 Rock's Gold Case remain so funny. 00:00 Intro: Come On Down! 01:11 Who Is the Greatest Game Show Host? 02:14 Bob Barker Enters the GOAT Debate 03:37 Drew Carey and The Price Is Right 04:17 Pat Sajak, Wheel of Fortune, and Controversies 06:18 Vanna White and the Best Job on Television 07:29 Alex Trebek and Jeopardy! 08:17 Richard Dawson and Family Feud 08:55 The Famous "September" Family Feud Answer 09:36 Bob Barker's Pop Culture Legacy 10:00 Wheel of Fortune Announcer Controversy 11:47 JJ Meets Mark Summers 12:10 Double Dare, Unwrapped, and Mark Summers 13:20 How Mark Summers Got His Name 13:44 The Mark Summers Stage Show 14:00 Fargo's Connection to the Double Dare Set 15:20 Game Show Hosts With Multiple Careers 16:04 Bob Barker Before The Price Is Right 17:25 Steve Harvey and the Celebrity Host Era 19:24 Is America's Funniest Home Videos a Game Show? 20:07 Greg Lee and Carmen Sandiego 21:02 Greg Lee, Eye of the Dolphin, and Doug 22:56 Nickelodeon Game Shows We Thought We Could Win 23:12 Legends of the Hidden Temple 24:27 Nickelodeon GUTS 25:45 The Game Show Host Mount Rushmore 26:11 Gene Rayburn and Match Game 27:25 Howie Mandel and Deal or No Deal 29:34 Is American Idol a Game Show? 31:10 Does Whose Line Is It Anyway?
