Description
Introduction: Hello everyone and welcome to episode #15 of Mikey's podcast. This week we will be doing a recap of the Chase race from last week at Bristol.
Talking Points:
Would Ty Gibbs repeat at Bristol?
Would Denny Hamlin win again in the playoffs at Bristol?
Would the Toyotas show some life in a critical race at Bristol?
What would the Chase standings look like after the 3rd race of the Chase at Bristol?
Driver Race Recaps:
Ty Gibbs:
- Ty Gibbs had one of his best races of the season by dominating and leading the most laps during the race
- Gibbs had a very fast car and he was determined to win, but a late restart caused him to lose the lead late in the race.
- Gibbs looks like a serious championship contender as he gained many points on the day, and showed he is one to contend with each race for the win.
Denny Hamlin:
- Denny Hamlin had a good race at Bristol, but it is not the type of race we are used to seeing him put together at Bristol.
- Hamlin's ability to keep his composure and take the kind of car he is given, and come home with solid finishes proves why he is a threat to win the championship.
- Hamlin looks to go dominate these next three races as they play into his favor, where he has shined the most all season long.
Christopher Bell:
- Christopher Bell had a good race at Bristol, but he was not satisfied only finishing in the top 10
- Bell had a lot of confidence going into Bristol, and he just did not have the car to contend for the win
- Bell like Hamlin looks to go have strong runs at these next three tracks, and prove that he is still capable of winning the championship.
Chase Briscoe:
- Chase Briscoe had a mediocre day at Bristol as he did not finish the race once again
- Briscoe gained some valuable points on the day, but it was not enough for where he sits in the Chase standings
- Briscoe hopes to gain some momentum at Kansas and vault himself back into the top 5, in the Chase standings after the race at Kansas.
Headlines:
- NASCAR heads to Kansas Speedway otherwise known as the "sunshine state" for the fourth race of the Chase this Sunday
- Kansas has been a very compelling and exciting race the past few years in the playoffs, and it sure will not disappoint in the Chase this year.
- Look for drivers such as Hamlin, Larson, Elliott, and Logano to be strong at Kansas this coming Sunday
- This is sure a race you won't want to miss, as it will be interesting to see who sits where in the Chase standings, after the first mile and a half race of the Chase.
Outro: That is it for episode #15 of Mikey's podcast. Thank you all for listening and I will see you next week for episode #16 of the podcast.
