Just 2 B!tches Talk About Consent... Because It Shouldn't Be Complicated
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains discussions of sexual assault, sexual violence, consent violations, alcohol and drug use, and personal experiences of sexual assault. Some descriptions may be emotionally difficult or triggering for listeners. Please take care of yourself while listening and skip or pause the episode if needed. This week on Just 2 B!tches, we're having a serious conversation about sexual assault, consent, and the complicated role that alcohol and drugs can play in situations where consent is questioned or ignored. We discuss the current Cornell 7 case, what consent actually means, and some of the statistics surrounding sexual assault. Then, Jen and Christie get personal and share their own experiences with sexual assault and the impact those experiences had on them. This is an important conversation, but it's not an easy one. We're talking about things that are often difficult to say out loud, and we hope this episode reminds listeners that their experiences matter, consent matters, and no one is ever responsible for someone else violating their boundaries. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, you are not alone. The National Sexual Assault Hotline is available 24/7 at 800-656-HOPE (4673) or through RAINN.org.
