You are listening to The Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Good News That Changed The World. This audiobook is brought to you by KM AUDIOBOOKS. *INTRODUCTION* What is the Gospel? The word Gospel comes from the Greek word, euangelion. It means, Good News. Not good advice. Not good philosophy. Good News. And what is that Good News? It is this: That God loves you. That He came for you. That He died for you. And that He lives again, so that you can live too. The Apostle Paul summarized the Gospel in one sentence. In First Corinthians, chapter 15, verse 3 and 4, he wrote: "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." In this audiobook, we will unpack that one sentence. And it will change your life. Let us begin. *CHAPTER 1: THE NEED - WHY WE NEEDED A SAVIOR* In the beginning, everything was perfect. The Bible says in Genesis, chapter 1, verse 27: "So God created man in his own image." We were made for fellowship. For friendship with God. No guilt. No shame. No death. But then, something broke. In Genesis chapter 3, man chose to disobey God. The Bible calls this sin. And sin created a separation. The prophet Isaiah said it like this, in chapter 59, verse 2: "Your iniquities have separated between you and your God." And Romans chapter 3, verse 23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." All of us. Not just bad people. All of us have lied, have been selfish, have had impure thoughts. We have all fallen short. And the consequence of sin is serious. Romans chapter 6, verse 23 says, "The wages of sin is death." Not just physical death. But spiritual death. Separation from God forever. You see, God is not only loving, He is also just. A just judge cannot ignore crime. And we are guilty. Can good works save us? Can we earn our way back? The Bible answers in Isaiah 64, verse 6: "All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." Think about it. If you break the law, you cannot go to the judge and say, "But I did many good things yesterday." You still have to pay for the crime you committed. We needed someone to pay for us. Someone perfect. Someone who could stand in our place. In the Old Testament, God gave the people a picture. A system of sacrifices. An innocent lamb would die in place of the guilty person. Every sacrifice was whispering one message: One day, a perfect Lamb is coming. One who will not just cover sin, but take it away completely. That Lamb is Jesus Christ. That is why we need the Gospel. Because without it, we are lost. But with it, we have hope. *[PAUSE FOR 2 SECONDS]* *CLOSING THOUGHT* Take a moment today and ask yourself: Have I ever truly understood my need for a Savior? The Gospel begins not with us doing something for God, but with God doing something for us that we could never do for ourselves. *[MUSIC: Fade up slightly]* This was Episode 1 of The Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Episode 2, we will explore The Promise - How the entire Old Testament foretold the coming of Jesus with over 300 prophecies. Thank you for listening. This has been a production of KM AUDIOBOOKS.
