Description

*THE WATCHERS - EPISODE 2* *The Covenant on Mount Hermon* In the beginning, they were holy. Two hundred angels. Guardians. Set apart by God to watch over the children of men. Not to rule. Not to touch. Only to watch. The scriptures call them... The Watchers. But on a day that heaven still remembers, the watchers stopped watching. Mount Hermon. Its peak covered in snow, even in summer. Its summit, closer to heaven than any other mountain on earth. It was here that Semjaza, their chief, gathered them. And he said... "Come, let us choose wives from among the daughters of men, and beget us children." And they all answered him. All two hundred of them. They swore a great oath. They bound themselves together with a curse upon Mount Hermon. A covenant not made with God... but against Him. The Book of Enoch tells us their names. Leaders of tens. Semjaza, their chief. Araklba, Rameel, Kokabel, Tamiel, Ramiel, Danel, Ezeqeel, Baraqijal, Asael, Armaros, Batarel, Ananel, Zaqiel, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Jomjael, Sariel... Two hundred angels descended. In the days of Jared, the father of Enoch. And the earth... was never the same. *CHAPTER 2: THE FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE* They did not come empty-handed. Each of them brought a gift. A secret from heaven. A knowledge mankind was never meant to know. Azazel... the tenth chief. He taught men how to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates. He showed them the metals of the earth and how to work them. Before Azazel, men did not know war. To the women, he taught the art of beautifying the eyelids with antimony, and how to make bracelets and ornaments. Vanity, introduced by an angel. Semjaza taught enchantments. The cutting of roots. The spell that deceives. Armaros taught the resolving of enchantments. Baraqijal taught astrology. Kokabel taught the constellations. Ezeqeel taught the knowledge of the clouds. Araqiel taught the signs of the earth. Shamsiel taught the signs of the sun. Sariel taught the course of the moon. And mankind, fascinated, took it all. They drank it in. But knowledge without holiness... is corruption. The Bible says in Genesis 6:5 - "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." It started with the Watchers. *CHAPTER 3: THE GIANTS ARE BORN* And the women bore children to them. Not ordinary children. Giants. The Nephilim. Three thousand cubits tall, the Book of Enoch says. Mighty men, men of renown, as Genesis calls them. But they were not like men. Their appetite was insatiable. They ate all the labor of men. And when man could no longer sustain them... they turned on man. They began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish. And they devoured one another's flesh. And drank the blood. The earth cried out. The blood of the innocent cried out from the ground to heaven. And the Watchers watched. And did nothing. *CHAPTER 4: THE JUDGMENT* Then God called Enoch. Enoch, the seventh from Adam. A man who walked with God. He said, "Enoch, scribe of righteousness, go and tell the Watchers of heaven, who have left the high heaven and have defiled themselves with women... ...that their judgment is sealed. They will not ascend to heaven. They will not have peace. They will see the destruction of their beloved sons. Bind Azazel hand and foot. Cast him into the darkness. Open the desert in Dudael and cast him there. Place rough and jagged rocks over him, and cover him with darkness. Let him stay there forever. And to Semjaza and his associates... bind them for seventy generations in the valleys of the earth, until the day of their judgment." The covenant on Mount Hermon... was answered by a covenant of judgment from heaven. But that... is where our next episode begins. Because God had one more plan. A flood.
