Season 4 | Episode #Jose #8 | Bridging Ancestral Herbal Wisdom & Modern Technology with Jose Torres

In this episode of the Live Your Raw Life Podcast, Rachel Watkins welcomes Jose Torres, founder of Aztlan Herbal Remedies and Indigenous Herbalist. Jose shares his powerful healing journey from severe gut and skin issues to becoming a community healer who bridges Mexican ancestral plant medicine with modern wellness technology through the Menla Scan. Together, they explore how true healing begins in the gut, is guided by nature, and reconnects us with our ancestral roots and spiritual wisdom. In this episode, you’ll hear: Jose’s origin story as a healer How childhood meningitis, chronic gut problems, and years on medication led him to natural remedies and his lineage of healers. Why gut health is the foundation The link between gut imbalance and issues like eczema, migraines, blood sugar, blood pressure, and brain fog - and why quick detoxes don’t support longterm healing. Blending tradition with tech: the Menla Scan How Jose uses the Menla Scan alongside herbal remedies to visually show clients what’s happening in their bodies and track progress over time. Plants as living medicine Why herbs are not a “fast fix,” the importance of consistency, and how blessing and working intentionally with plant medicine shifts body, mind, and spirit. First steps if you’re feeling out of alignment - Jose’s simple starting point for anyone wanting to reclaim their health - especially through gentle, sustained gut detox and lifestyle shifts.
