NEXT MAN UP: Matvei Gridin, other Calgary Flames Prospects can STEP UP without Mikael Backlund

Calgary Flames Captain Mikael Backlund is out tonight, giving players like Joel Farabee, Jonathan Castagna, and Matvei Gridin a chance to take on bigger roles against the Minnesota Wild. With Blake Coleman returning and Ben Jones making his season debut, the spotlight is on Calgary’s lineup adjustments and who can drive play without their captain. Peter Klein looks at that, plus a breakdown of what the Wild will bring to the Dome tonight, and revisits the Zach Whitecloud conversation from earlier in the week, along with some reactions that surprised him.
