HYPE: Drew Mestemaker’s NFL Draft Potential DISCUSSED—Oklahoma State’s QB1 SPOTLIGHT

Oklahoma State Cowboys quarterback Drew Mestemaker rockets into the 2027 NFL Draft spotlight—could he be QB1? Scouts rave about his prototypical 6’3”, 215-pound frame, explosive arm talent, and off-script creativity, but questions linger around his limited quarterback reps and evolving mechanics. Is Mestemaker the next big dual-threat, or will raw inexperience hold him back from first-round status? The conversation focused on Mestemaker’s journey from North Texas punter and safety to Power 4 QB sensation, comparing his makeup to Josh Allen, Anthony Richardson, and Trey Lance. Key themes include his vertical offensive system, decision-making under pressure, release mechanics, and intangibles like leadership and resilience. The discussion explored whether teams should risk a high pick on upside and whether Mestemaker’s skillset can translate to the NFL’s demands. Don’t miss this comprehensive breakdown of college football’s most intriguing quarterback prospect. Photo Credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn Images Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
