Old Dominion Monarchs shock Appalachian State Mountaineers in a rain-soaked defensive slugfest. Did App State's stubborn play-calling cost them the game in brutal conditions? Locked On Sun Belt breaks down ODU’s gritty 10-3 victory, spotlighting Devin Roche's 101-yard rushing performance and Quinn Henicle’s steady hand. The conversation focused on App State’s inexplicable insistence on passing—23 attempts for Malachi Singleton—despite a monsoon that demanded a ground-and-pound approach. A key theme that emerged was ODU’s 207 rushing yards and dominating time of possession, exposing App State’s lack of in-game adjustments. The discussion explored critical moments: App State’s costly fumble and ODU’s game-sealing fourth-quarter drive. As Sun Belt action intensifies, questions loom over App State’s offensive strategy and their ability to bounce back, especially with Coastal Carolina up next.
