917: Is It Worth the Detour: Across Disney World for One Bite
We’re kicking off our “Is It Worth the Detour” series by tackling a question every Disney food lover eventually faces: Would you travel across Walt Disney World for one specific bite? From Disney Springs to resort hotels and the parks, we’re weighing tempting treats and savory favorites against the effort required to reach them. Transportation, waiting, and timing all enter the conversation. After all, a quick snack can become quite an expedition when your stomach starts making the itinerary. Along the way, we discuss what separates a food worth planning around from something we’d happily enjoy only when nearby. We also explore alternatives that could satisfy a similar craving without sending you across property. Sometimes another location offers a practical solution. Other times, the original has something special that’s hard to replace. Expect sweet temptations, savory contenders, a few tough comparisons, and plenty of room for disagreement. Does a favorite deserve its reputation? Whether you build your Disney trips around dining or simply want to spend less time traveling for snacks, this episode will help you think through your next delicious detour. Bring your appetite and your opinions as we decide when to make the trip, when to grab something closer, and when to keep moving. Your next must-have bite might earn a special journey—or save you one. Either way, the snack debate starts right here.

916: Five-Star Experience, One-Star Price: Paid Edition
Who says you need a park ticket to have a magical Disney day? We share five paid experiences at Walt Disney World that deliver plenty of fun without stepping through a theme park entrance. From friendly competition to fireworks on the water, these picks give your vacation budget something to smile about. First, grab a putter and head to Fantasia Gardens for miniature golf, then turn your outing into an evening with food and entertainment at Disney’s BoardWalk. Next, bring your appetite to Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Kidani Village, where the beloved bread service, flavorful dishes, and savanna views make dinner an experience of its own. We also discuss ways to round out your visit with animal viewing, cultural activities, and a zebra dome finish. For an afternoon with a little extra fruit in your glass, Sangria University at Coronado Springs combines history, tastings, a light appetizer, and the chance to create your own sangria. Then it’s off to Fort Wilderness for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, featuring hearty food, live entertainment, and enough cornbread enthusiasm to deserve its own standing ovation. A horse-drawn carriage ride could make the evening sweeter. Finally, we explain why a private fireworks cruise earns a top spot. With a captain, snacks, drinks, and spectacular views, sharing the boat with friends can make this splurge appealing. Along the way, we compare costs, discuss sharing meals and splitting group experiences, and offer ideas for making your resort day feel like a vacation highlight. Whether you’re planning a date, a family outing, or a gathering with friends, this episode proves that taking a break from the parks doesn’t mean taking a break from the magic. Your next favorite Disney memory might happen beyond the turnstiles.

We’re unpacking six nights of hotel perks, Disney Springs bites, shopping temptation, and dinner on Disney’s BoardWalk. First, we settle in at Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando near Disney Springs for a look at what a six-night stay brings to a Walt Disney World vacation. From room comfort and service to transportation, complimentary hot breakfast, and the evening 5:30 Kickback, we discuss the details that can shape both your experience and your vacation budget. Does this hotel earn a spot on the list for a return visit? Then, it’s time for two quick Disney Springs dining reviews. At The Polite Pig, we dig into brisket burnt ends with coffee rub, sweet barbecue sauce, and pickled onions. Over at Chicken Guy!, we check out the B.L.A.T., featuring chicken tenders, bacon, lettuce, avocado crema, tomatoes, and buttermilk ranch. Consider this your reminder to avoid listening hungry. 914: Another Bite of EPCOT Food & Wine, an Affogato Break, and Animal Kingdom Treats
We’re heading back into the parks for another round of Disney dining, and we’ve got some catching up to do! After a week at Walt Disney World that included Lou Mongello’s Momentum conference, we’re sharing more bites from the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, a bonus coffee break, and a sweet finish at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We start with festival offerings that arrived after opening weekend, including crab and corn macaroni and cheese from The Wedge, bo ssam pork belly lettuce wraps, and a pumpkin cheesecake mousse trifle from Festival Favorites. We’re digging into the flavors, textures, portions, and value to help you build your festival food list. This episode also includes a stop at The Alps for tartiflette, with potatoes, cheese, and bacon, before heading to Earth Eats for lemon almond olive oil cake with whipped Greek yogurt panna cotta. Along the way, we discover which dishes deliver big flavors and which treats offer a refreshing break between richer bites. Our tasting adventure continues with a selection of cheeses, a cannoli milkshake, and a warm raclette Swiss cheese baguette with ham and apple mustard relish. We’ve got plenty to say about creamy cheese, crunchy accompaniments, and whether that mustard deserves a starring role. Of course, we make room for an affogato in the Italy pavilion. We’re talking espresso poured over vanilla gelato, because combining coffee and dessert feels like excellent park planning. Then we head to Terra Treats in Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the Boneyard Cookies and Scream Sundae and the Fall Ice Cream Cookie Dough Sandwich. We’re digging into cookies and cream, edible cookie dough, a crunchy waffle bowl, and plenty of sprinkles. We’re sharing honest reactions, favorite bites, and laughs throughout our adventure. We take our snack research seriously, even when our ice cream starts melting before we finish taking pictures!

913: The Diamond Horseshoe Lounge Review: Sticky Ribs, Burnt Ends, and Big Surprises
We’re heading to Magic Kingdom and pulling up a chair at The Diamond Horseshoe for a live dining review of its limited time lounge experience. We’ve experienced the familiar feast at Liberty Tree Tavern, but this time, we’re checking out a different approach with shareable plates, specialty beverages, and a little Western flair. We’re taking you along for the entire experience, from looking over the menu and placing our order to sharing our first bites and deciding what we’d come back for. Along the way, we talk through our expectations, compare notes, and discuss how this offering fits into a day at Magic Kingdom. We also chat about reservations, pricing, portions, and the experience of taking a break from the park for a meal together. As always, we’re sharing our conversation as it happens, complete with interruptions, unexpected encounters, and the occasional reminder that we should probably take pictures before we start eating. Between bites, we catch up on a few things around Walt Disney World, covering recent dining stops at Disney Springs, a familiar snack in Toy Story Land, and a preview of more food adventures we’ll be sharing soon. We also take a detour into a concert adventures with Lacie, including a meet and greet, some memorable moments, and a little dad embarrassment. We can’t promise we stay on topic, but we can promise we have plenty to talk about. We wrap up by discussing whether we’d recommend making time for The Diamond Horseshoe and what might bring us back for another visit. Join us at the table for a relaxed afternoon of Disney dining, catching up, and plenty of laughs. We’re glad to have you along, even if we can’t pass a plate through your headphones. We’ll handle the taste testing; you can enjoy the company.
