Matthew Barbato is an American editor, producer, and director with over two decades of filmmaking experience. Most recently, he returned to season 4 of "Only Murders in the Building" after previously editing season 1 of the show.
Beyond "Only Murders in the Building," Matthew has a diverse range of editing credits on several award-winning television series across comedy and drama, including "Lessons in Chemistry," "The Good Place," "Veep," "High Fidelity," and Dave. His other recent credits include Disney+'s "American Born Chinese," Netflix's "The Kominsky Method," and Peacock's "Apples Never Fall."
Initially, Matthew's professional career took off in 2001, when his work on "Trauma: Life in the E.R." received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Sound Editing for a non-fiction program.
Matthew's professional credits are not limited to the editing sphere; his varied career includes shooting and directing verité, as is evident in Anthony Bourdain's first television series, "A Cook's Tour," for which he acted as camera operator and director.
