Toy Story 5 (2026) Family Movie Review | Ranking the Whole Franchise | Ep. 115

It's the return everyone's been waiting for — Pixar's Toy Story 5! On this family movie review, Isaac and Seth bring real film analysis and honest movie reviews to one of the most anticipated sequels in Pixar history, asking: does this long-awaited chapter prove there's still life in these toys, or should they have stayed on the shelf? They dig into the surprisingly timely story — Bonnie's growing attachment to technology and what it means for Jessie, Woody, Buzz, and the whole gang — plus breakout new characters Lillipad, Blaze, and the scene-stealing Smarty Pants (voiced by Conan O'Brien). This is one of the more emotionally rich kids movies and children's films Pixar has made in years, with a Jessie-centered arc both hosts agree is the true heart of the film. Fun facts you'll want to share: Bullseye finally speaks on-screen for the first time in the franchise, voiced by Alan Cumming. A hidden image from Finding Nemo appears on Lillipad's screen. And Woody's bald spot lines up exactly with where his hair was repaired back in Toy Story 2 — a small, deliberate continuity touch. Plus a true-or-false trivia question about which actors have appeared in all five films, the Kid Test across all four of Isaac's kids (spoiler: everyone loved it, though their personal franchise rankings couldn't be more different), and — since we've now covered all five entries — a special bonus segment ranking the entire Toy Story franchise from both hosts. Granny's official family friendly rating: an A — one of the cleanest, most wholesome films this franchise has ever produced. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:16 – Intro: One of Pixar's Most Anticipated Sequels Arrives 1:26 – Movie Reveal: Toy Story 5 (2026) 3:24 – Film Facts & Granny's Family-Friendly Rating 6:08 – The Surprisingly Low IMDb Score, Explained 8:09 – Sequel & Spin-off Speculation 9:06 – First Memories & Theater Experiences 13:55 – Plot Rewind: Full Film Analysis Begins 14:29 – Kids Movies Premise: Toys vs. Technology 19:24 – The Buzz Lightyear "Star Command" Update 22:38 – Character Breakdown: Lillipad, Blaze & Smarty Pants 30:59 – Woody & Buzz Take a Backseat 39:23 – "When Somebody Loved Me" — The Emotional Highlight 42:03 – Fun Facts & Easter Eggs 46:14 – Trivia: The Only Actors in All 5 Films 48:51 – What Other Movie Reviews Are Saying 57:14 – The Kid Test 58:10 – Our Official Family Movie Review Rating 1:00:41 – Bonus: Ranking All 5 Toy Story Movies 1:07:31 – Outro & Where to Find Us We've also partnered with Big Poppin' LLC for our own custom flavor — "Grandma's Punch-Aid"!
