Good Friday—Christ’s Burial and the Death of Death

APR 3, 202626 MIN

Description

What does the burial of Jesus teach us about our own death?

In this Good Friday sermon, we confront the fear, horror, and mystery of death—and the deeper reality revealed in Christ. The world sees death as tragedy, but Jesus enters death willingly, bearing sin and the wrath of God, and is laid in the tomb to sanctify the graves of His people.

By His death and burial, Christ has taken away the eternal sting of death, opened the gates of heaven, and secured peace with God through His blood. Though death may still bring pain and uncertainty, it is no longer the end. For those in Christ, death becomes a temporary rest, joined to His own, awaiting the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

In Him, your death is no longer defeat—it is the passage into life.

St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church (UAC)
Magnolia, Texas — Serving Magnolia, The Woodlands, and Montgomery County

🔔 Visit us: www.stthomastx.church
📅 Join us for Divine Service Sundays at 9:00 AM

Klein Funeral Home
Magnolia-The Woodlands
14711 FM 1488
Magnolia, Texas 77354
