Ancient wisdom, new metaphors: Rizwan Virk on simulation theory and the benefits of breaking down

In this episode, I interview author, technologist and entrepreneur Rizwan Virk about his new book, “The Zen Entrepreneur and the Dream,” exploring how he was broken open by traumatic experiences and personal challenges that led him to an expanded universe of ontological possibilities.  The book covers Virk’s journey from being an ambitious young businessman chasing his first major win to becoming both a financial and literary success, then how that journey ultimately ended up transforming his view of the world. We review the early anomalous experiences that led to Virk’s catharsis, including lucid dreams, entity encounters, past life recollections, and synchronicities that challenged his understanding of reality. We also explore concepts from Rizwan's previous book, "The Simulation Hypothesis," discussing how both ancient mystics and today’s thinkers use technological metaphors to describe spiritual concepts, and how that’s relevant to the conversation today around Buddhist ideas of Maya and its connection to simulation theory. Virk then explains his distinction between NPC and RPG versions of simulation theory. The conversation then reflects on how personal challenges can serve as spiritual initiation. We end with Virk offering his advice on how people can tune into spirit within their own lives, and how doing so offers a lifestyle that can protect one from ennui, angst, and general anxiety.  www.zenentrepreneur.com/simulationhypothesis —---------------------------- Music Credits: Music:  Cinematic Logo 04 by TaigaSoundProd Free download: https://filmmusic.io/song/8221-cinematic-logo-04 Licensed under CC BY 4.0: https://filmmusic.io/standard-license  Music: Technology Calm Logo 01 by TaigaSoundProd Free download: https://filmmusic.io/song/6660-technology-calm-logo-01 Licensed under CC BY 4.0: https://filmmusic.io/standard-license  ---  Please don’t forget to like and subscribe.  Support this channel on Patreon: www.patreon.com/neongalactic  On X:  @jfrickingfaulk  @@rizstanford On Instagram: @rizcambridge #UFO #UAP #psi #ESP #psychic #consciousness #alien #daimon #Jung #archetype #idealism #monism #illuminism #enlightenment #kybalion #hermetic #gnostic #shamanism #occult #magic #magick #conspiracy #faerie #simulation #demiurge #mandala #shadow #imaginal #secrecy #remoteviewing #RV #astral #theosophy #monomyth #mythology #egregore #tulpa #contact #saucer #disclosure #AATIP #AAWSAP #Skinwalker #Bigelow #NIDS #download #CE5 #anthroposophy #plato #plotinus #demonology #djinn #whitelodge #twinpeaks #seth #lawofone #ramaterial #channeling #loosh #uintah #Enoch #enochian #iam #meditate #chakra #reiki #reincarnation #metempsychosis #sirius #vril #grail #devil #angel #archangel #AI #yaldabaoth #sophia #marian #miracle #ontology #greys #ultraterrestrial #Oannes #Hathor #Osiris #pythagoras #thelema #BICS #PKD #VALIS #terencemckenna #timewavezero #entheogen #psychedelic #alter #individuate #spirit #sol #johndee #goldendawn #mantid #spirituality #NDE #OBE #luciddreaming #experiencer #majestic #encounter #magonia #naledi #alchemy #magnumopus #astrology #einsof #kabbalah #perennialphilosophy #quantum #observer #gravitics #CIA #tothestars #sekretmachines #necronomicon #lovecraft #zeropointenergy #unusmundus #plasma #superconscious
