Description
Pope Leo XIV is receiving encouraging news after being diagnosed with lung cancer and undergoing surgery to remove the lower lobe of his right lung. The 71-year-old pontiff made his first public appearance since surgery, smiling and greeting crowds as he begins a gradual return to his duties. Doctors have confirmed that the cancer was localized and that no further treatment is necessary. Dan talked with Dr. Anasuya Gunturi, Chief of Oncology at Lowell General Hospital, about the diagnosis, surgery, recovery, and prognosis of lung cancer.
