Description
Denton is the Halloween capitol of Texas, famous for coffin races, its Día de los Muertos festival and, of course, the Great Pumpkin in front of City Hall. That acclaim for all things spooky started 17 years ago with Cirque du Horror, a variety show under a circus tent pitched just two blocks from Denton’s town square. KERA's Alexsis Jones and Therese Powell sat down with David J. Pierce, the creator and composer of this one-of-a-kind Halloween exhibition, to find out more about the show and his creative process. Plus, do you know about the Lake Worth Monster? The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge throws a party for this big, furry creature every year, and we talked to one of the refuge's scientists, Laura Veloz, about the Lake Worth Monster Bash.
