Oilers Lose 6-5 To Canucks In OT + Jason Demers

Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin are back in studio with Producer Bordzy for another edition of ON Everyday, breaking down a wild opening night in Edmonton. The boys kick things off with a full recap of the Oilers’ 6-5 overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks. After struggling to generate much offensively for most of the night, Edmonton exploded late in the third period to force overtime — only to watch Paul Cotter bury the winner after a defensive breakdown. Tristan Jarry also had a difficult Oilers debut, allowing six goals on just 23 shots, and Tyler and Liam break down what went wrong for Edmonton at both ends of the ice. Despite the loss, Evan Bouchard had an absolutely incredible night, recording a hat trick and five points in the losing effort. Former NHL defenseman Jason Demers joins the show to break down Bouchard’s performance and what makes the Oilers blueliner such a dangerous offensive weapon. Then, TSN analyst Cameron Gaunce joins Tyler and Liam to share his thoughts on the Oilers’ season debut, the opening day of the NHL season, and some of the biggest storylines developing around the league. And we’re not done yet! Dennis King joins the show to give his take on Edmonton’s season opener, Jarry’s struggles, Bouchard’s huge night, and what the Oilers need to clean up moving forward. Finally, Tyler and Liam close things out with their daily betting picks courtesy of bet365.
