Description

What if the most loving thing God can do is refuse to leave us the way we are? We start with a question that sounds simple but cuts deep: what does love look like when you strip away romance, movies, and clichés and let the Bible answer for itself? From 1 John and 2 John, we wrestle with a definition many of us don’t reach for first: love for God looks like keeping His commandments and walking in His word. Then we put a popular church phrase on the table: “God loves you just as you are.” We weigh it against Revelation 3:19, where Jesus says the ones He loves He rebukes and chastens, calling them to be zealous and repent. That opens up a bigger conversation about spiritual discipline, sanctification, and why holiness is not optional if we want to follow Christ. We also step into John 21, where Jesus restores Peter after denial by asking three times, “Do you love me?” and linking love to action: feed my sheep. Hebrews 12 pushes it further by framing correction as proof of sonship, not rejection. And at the center of it all stands the cross, arms wide open, showing the cost of redemption and why Romans 12 calls our response “reasonable.” We close with a practical challenge about hunger and thirst for God, wilderness seasons, and fasting as a detox from idols. If this stirred something in you, share it with a friend, leave a review, and subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next. What does love look like in your life right now?
