Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Failure can feel like a verdict, but what if it is actually a turning point? We open with 2 Corinthians 3:18 and sit with Paul’s claim that real transformation happens as we behold the glory of the Lord and are changed by the Spirit. That single idea confronts a temptation many of us carry: trying to fix ourselves through sheer effort, better phrasing, or a tougher mindset. Those tools can help, but they are not the engine of Christian spiritual growth. We talk honestly about calling, correction, and the painful gap between where we are and where we believe God is leading us. A calling can be real while maturity is still under construction. We reflect on how easy it is to confuse “not ready” with “not called,” and how an inner rebel can turn feedback into a fight. Along the way, we connect Jacob’s night of wrestling and his limp to our own stories: we move into the next day not finished, but different. The conversation moves through detours that look temporary or disappointing but become formative: internships, unexpected appointments, new schools, long commutes, and the slow work of learning how to think, listen, and follow. We also name a hard truth for anyone chasing “spiritual maturity” as a finish line: pain does not automatically make you wise, age does not automatically make you holy, and experience does not automatically make you Christ-like. Only the Holy Spirit can form Christlikeness as we keep our eyes on Jesus. If you are asking what comes next, or you are living in a season you did not plan, this is a reminder that the Shepherd is still speaking and still forming you.
