Description
IDLES bassist and lifelong Newcastle supporter Adam "Dev" Devonshire joins Piers and Jim to celebrate football shirts, famous goals and the beautiful madness of following a team from the opposite end of the country.
Dev reveals how he amassed a collection of around 1,000 football shirts before giving them all away, remembers seeing Tony Yeboah score one of the greatest goals of the 1990s and explains why he wears Newcastle shirts on stage. He also talks about watching football while touring the world, being related to West Ham legend Alan Devonshire and flying from Bristol to Newcastle for home games.
Plus, which footballer would fit into IDLES, Sir Bobby Robson’s similarities to Dolly Parton and the surreal afternoon Dev spent learning modular synths at Steve Davis’ house.
