How Will The New 'Instagram Features' Impact Podcasting? What You Need to Know (#130)

On Monday, October 26th, 2026, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced a major addition to the IG lineup: long-form video! Known as Features, Instagram is in the early stages (as of the release of this episode) of rolling this new option out - with select creators getting first crack at putting Features to work. In Episode 130 of Podcasting Strategy Simplified, I'm joined by Marc Ronick, my friend and business partner at Empowered Podcasting, to partake in some early thoughts, predictions, and insights on what full-length video coming to Instagram means for podcasters. As Marc and I discuss Instagram's latest foray into long-form video, we learn this element of the platform very closely mirrors what you see on YouTube. Long-form videos (up to 90 minutes will be at your disposal on IG) Full screen orientation to watch horizontally on your smartphone and tablets The ability to connect Reels to Features to increase discoverability and views Marc and I both agreed we could've kept this conversation going longer than we did. ESPECIALLY after we discovered we didn't mention this new Features launch will be accompanied by the launch of an IG app for your SmartTV...meaning you can watch full-length video on your big screen as well.
