Filmmakers Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado join Popcorn Podcast to talk their new animated film, Forgotten Island. When the two began thinking about writing and directing an original film, they found their way to a story shaped by Filipino culture, mythology and family. Together, they saw an opportunity to build a film from a culture that had shaped both of their lives in intimate ways. Thus was born, Forgotten Island.
