Milo Quifes: breakout star of La Bola Negra

La Bola Negra breakout star Milo Quifes is our interview guest on Popcorn Podcast. The film, and young actor, have been taking the world by storm ever since Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi won best director at the Cannes Film Festival. It boldly reimagines Federico García Lorca’s unfinished play with an extravagant film about Spain’s history of political and homophobic persecution that spans three stories and timeframes revealing unexpected connections as they explore love, sexuality, repression, and the legacy of Spain’s past. In our chat, Milo shares what he admires about his character Carlos, why he felt his winning audition was the worst he had ever done, how he learned the piano for six months only for none of it to make the film, and how fortunate he is to call his directors and fellow actors his chosen family.
