Olivia Wilde on risk she took with The Invite

Acclaimed actor and director Olivia Wilde is our guest on Popcorn Podcast. Earlier this year, she starred in and directed The Invite, a huge indie hit that is expected to light up awards season. The Invite is an intimate ensemble piece set at a dinner party that goes sideways, with Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton rounding out the cast. In our chat, Wilde talks about why the tonal shift from chatty comedy to quiet drama paid off with audiences, and what it says about our appetite for bold, risky independent films. She also gets into how a unique rehearsal process and chronological filming turned four incredible actors into co-authors in what is celebrated as truly collaborative filmmaking.
