PYA Webinar Recast

Beginning in 2027, maternity care coding is scheduled to move away from the historical global billing framework toward separate reporting across phases of care. In this Healthcare Regulatory Roundup webinar, PYA's Angie Caldwell and Deuce Lukemeyer examine how the transition may affect wRVU attribution, reimbursement, physician compensation, laborist and hospitalist programs, APP and midwife utilization, productivity benchmarks, contracts, and operational workflows. The presenters walk through multiple care models, including same-TIN and cross-TIN scenarios, and explain why prenatal visit patterns, labor complexity, length of stay, and provider mix can change the modeled impact. They also discuss compensation planning, coverage pay, benchmark noise, physician education, shadow modeling, and a potential stabilization approach during implementation.
