Episode #229 Su Mach'ado is a Licensed Reiki Master Teacher Do You Need History To Trust Reiki;

Reiki can enter your life in the most unexpected way, sometimes through a career breaking point, sometimes through an animal you love. We sit down with ,Su Mach'ado  a Brazilian licensed Reiki Master Teacher, Animal Reiki educator, and historian with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), to talk about the moment Reiki found her and how a stressful corporate law career and burnout gave way to a steady, grounded daily practice. Su shares how her dogs led her to Reiki, what changed when she began consistent self-treatment, and why you do not need to “feel” big sensations for Reiki energy healing to be working. We also tackle the myths that keep people on the sidelines, like believing Reiki is only for special people or that you have to abandon a normal job to live a spiritual life. If you’re looking for Reiki for stress relief, emotional balance, or a calmer nervous system, you’ll hear a realistic path you can actually follow. From there, we go deeper into what makes a trustworthy Reiki practitioner, including ethics, nonjudgment, and holding space during hard decisions like end-of-life support in Animal Reiki. Su also brings her evidence-based Reiki history lens, explaining how learning lineage and roots can enrich modern practice without turning Reiki into something rigid. We talk about how Reiki evolved as it traveled to the West, the surprises history reveals, and what it takes to translate core ICRT materials like Usui Holy Fire III Reiki and Karuna Reiki into Portuguese while keeping the meaning intact. Tracy is joining this episode by her ICRT Mentor Karen Caig who is her co-guide. Karen Caig, M.A., L.R.M.T., is a prominent Licensed Reiki Master Teacher, author, and life transformation coach. Formerly based in the Ozarks of Arkansas, she now operates globally as the founder of the Reiki Institute.  Su Mach'ado is a Licensed Reiki Master Teacher and historian with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), and founder of Centro de Treinamento de Reiki - Felicidade in Brazil. The first Brazilian to become an ICRT Licensed Reiki Master Teacher, she has trained hundreds of Reiki practitioners and teachers internationally. A pioneer in teaching Holy Fire® III Reiki and ICRT Animal Reiki in Portuguese, Su brings warmth, clarity, and respect for Reiki’s Japanese roots to her work. Her love for animals and the Earth inspires her dedication to sharing Reiki as a path to balance, well-being, and peace.
