RBP 244: Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf

Episode 244 When Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf's altercation ended in murder at a track meet in Texas in 2025, it seemed to be a forgone conclusion that it would attract national attention because of the difference in skin color and the fact that these boys were of high school age. What we got in addition, however, was even more concerning. While grappling with the reality of increasing rage and degeneracy in our youth, we had to wrestle with the fact that the ideological echo chambers of yesteryear had morphed into rabid angry support groups for the intersectional victim no matter what heinous crime they had committed. Karmelo Anthony was the innocent black angel who was just defending himself against an angry white giant and to suggest otherwise meant you were an evil racist worthy of the same fate as his victim. On this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we discuss the tragic events and the subsequent trial, but we also discuss the growing radicalization of ideological groups online that have warped our moral compass as a people because social media has put their views on display for all of us to engage with. Should we engage, and how should we do so as Bible believing Christians? Join us as we discuss these questions and more.
