Description
Marriage counseling has come a long way since medieval Germany, where some marital disputes were settled by a duel. But when problems seem impossible to resolve, the question is still the same: where do we go from here?
In this message from our study through the Gospel of Mark, Pastor Jason Smith looks at Mark 10:1-12, where the Pharisees ask Jesus when divorce is permissible. Jesus takes them back to the beginning, to God’s design for marriage in Genesis. Jason explains why marriage is a covenant, not a contract, and how it points to Christ’s love for his church. He speaks with care to anyone carrying wounds from divorce, and closes with three encouragements for every marriage: prioritize it, fight for it, and bring the gospel into it.
Scripture: Mark 10:1-12
Series: Gospel of Mark
Speaker: Pastor Jason Smith
