The reliability of the Bible is confirmed by many factors. Yet despite this, many—indeed, very many—people, often educated and sophisticated, do not trust it, do not accept it as the Word of God, do not understand its meaning, and do not accept its authority. The reason for this lies in the state of their spiritual world. Being in a state of spiritual opposition to God, these people see the facts but remain blind to their meaning.
