Brenda Blethyn

In this episode of Shooting Star Unwrapped, host Karen Sugarman MBE is joined by acclaimed actress Brenda Blethyn OBE - best known for her iconic role as DCI Vera Stanhope in ITV's Vera. Brenda brings along her beloved cockapoo Jack and a homemade fruitcake as her treat of choice. The conversation spans Brenda's remarkable five-decade career: growing up in post-war Ramsgate, working alongside Sir Michael Caine on Little Voice, and Nicolas Cage announcing her name as Best Actress winner at the worst possible time. The episode also features an interview with Alison, whose son Dylan-James was supported by Shooting Star Children's Hospices. Brenda also donates a signed copy of her memoir (from Ramsgate to Hollywood) to our virtual charity shop. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
