Description
Listen as we gather "Around the Table" with Bro. Ernie Perez and Sis. Anne, Sis. Audia and myself as we dig a little deeper into the writings of Luke.
Luke doesn’t open with hype he opens with receipts. We slow down in Luke 1:1-4 and ask why a New Testament writer would emphasize eyewitnesses, an “orderly account,” and the word certainty. If your faith has ever felt shaky under pressure, this conversation brings you back to the kind of foundation that can hold weight: the Gospel of Jesus Christ grounded in testimony, integrity, and truth that can be checked.
From there, we connect Luke 1 to Acts 1 and follow Luke’s two-volume story: what Jesus began to do and teach, then what that teaching produces in the early church. We talk about Jesus giving commandments, not suggestions, and why that matters for Christian discipleship today. We also tackle a big question people still argue about: how can the disciples be used by God before Pentecost, yet still be told to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
One of the most memorable takeaways is this line: “Belief is conception. It is not birth.” We unpack what that means for being “born again,” spiritual growth, and why the book of Acts keeps a consistent Gospel pattern from Acts 2 forward. And we keep it practical: the Holy Spirit brings power so we can be witnesses, and your most powerful witness is often the personal testimony of what Jesus has done in your life.
Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s studying Acts, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What part of Luke’s “certainty” do you need most right now? (*Recorded on 8/19/2026)
I would love your feedback and topic suggestions!
