Drag Queen Christmas, Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue & Crockpot Convos with Peter

Questions or Comments: Slip It In Here! We've been trying to get Peter on the podcast for months, and now that he's finally here, there's plenty to discuss. Peter, one half of Murray & Peter Present, joins Matty, Megan and JJ for a conversation about drag, theater, decades of friendship and some memorable nights out. First, Peter takes on our This or That speed round before sharing the story behind two touring productions: Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue and A Drag Queen Christmas. From the Golden Girls navigating modern life, including Blanche and Rose launching a sex app for seniors, to the logistics of touring with RuPaul's Drag Race royalty, Peter gives us a look behind the curtain. We talk Nina West, Crystal Methyd, the 39-city Christmas tour and how a production that started with early performances in Detroit grew into a touring success. Then come the stories only longtime friends can tell. JJ sleeping on a church lawn, the summer of Lime-A-Ritas, a memorable Fritos incident, someone being left in a sweltering car and a sake-fueled happy hour that ended with Peter climbing through his kitchen window and landing in a crockpot. We also learn the meaning of Shadoobs, a word that has become part of this group's vocabulary. The conversation continues with Finland's reputation for happiness, Waymo's arrival in Detroit and an espresso martini experiment involving soy sauce. Slip It Ins and Pull It Outs bring Lorne Michaels, the loss of a favorite Ferndale happy hour, cowboy hats, chicken feet as dog treats, God of War Ragnarök, face masks, a little girls-and-gays gossip and a frustrating encounter with a highway merging lane.
