You can brush twice a day, every single day, and still have bleeding gums, bad breath, tartar buildup, and cavities. After 35 years of dentistry, I have seen this pattern over and over, and I want to explain why it happens. In this episode, I'm going to show you the part of the "brush twice a day" recommendation that almost nobody explains, and what to actually look for in your own mouth. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Dentist EXPOSES the Truth About Brushing Twice a Day 0:44 Why brushing hard does not fix hidden spots 1:53 What repeated food traps and bleeding really mean 3:08 Plaque vs tartar and why home care hits a wall 4:56 What periodontal disease (bone disease) actually is 5:41 Why your toothbrush cannot tell you if you are healthy 6:22 The mouthwash mistake most people make 7:26 Why regular checkups matter even when nothing hurts 9:02 What a successful dental visit looks like ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED Does brushing twice a day mean my mouth is healthy? No. Brushing twice a day removes plaque from surfaces you can reach, but it cannot show you buildup under the gums or tell you if you are losing bone. Regular dental checkups catch what brushing cannot. Why do my gums keep bleeding even though I brush every day? Bleeding gums that happen regularly are a sign of inflammation, not a sign you need to brush harder. If the same spot keeps bleeding, it should be checked by a dentist rather than treated with more brushing or mouthwash. Can mouthwash fix bleeding gums or bad breath? Mouthwash can freshen your breath and kill some bacteria, but it does not reach hardened tartar under the gums or remove the cause of inflammation. A fresh feeling is not the same as a healthy mouth. 📱 RESOURCES Smile More Dentistry (Tappan, NY): https://www.dentist-tappan.com/ Washington Dental Associates (NJ): https://www.washingtondentalnj.com/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/smilemorelivemore/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/SmileLiveGive IG: https://www.instagram.com/smilelivegive/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/washingtondentalnj/ 🔔 If you want more episodes like this, subscribe.
