Ótal - Songs of Our Lives #140

On this episode of Songs of Our Lives, it’s Ótal! I first stumbled on his work via his “Heyr” album sometime last year and have been a big, big fan every since! The Icelandic-born, Akron-based composer has a new record out now called “Fjöður” - big time recommendation! We talk about the processes behind it before diving into Fela Kuti, Patricia Wolf, Nina Simone, Holger Czukay, ABBA, Vanilla Ice, Michael Stearns + more! Listen to all of Ótal’s picks HERE Fjöður Ótal’s website Ótal on IG Songs of Our Lives is a podcast series hosted by Brad Rose of Foxy Digitalis that explores the music that's made us and left a certain mark. Whether it's a song we associate with our most important moments, something that makes us cry, the things we love that nobody else does, or our favorite lyrics, we all have our own personal soundtrack.
