Description
She Pressed Her Palms Into Frozen Deck - Morning Prints No One Explains
Cold wood bore two perfect palm-sized impressions a centimeter deep in old-growth pine that a carpenter said you could not dent with a palm - and a third, smaller mark sat off to the side; what could warm frozen dock boards from below and then leave three unexplained prints? Who pressed them, and why did the woman who made them wait almost two weeks to tell anyone?
In this episode, we follow the timeline from the overnight visit to the Cotter Lake cabin to the morning discovery and the later carpenter and witness assessments, tracing what was photographed, recorded, and later reported to ask whether a natural explanation fits the evidence.
Person: Monica Rice
Person: Jennifer Olson
Date: April 9
Location: Cotter Lake dock
Event: Two oval palm impressions ~1 cm deep plus a smaller third impression
- Monica Rice photographed the impressions from six angles at approximately 6:15 AM on April 9.
- The two main depressions measured approximately one centimeter deep and were side by side.
- Jennifer Olson sat on the dock between ~1:00 and 1:30 AM on April 9 and pressed both palms flat against the boards.
- The dock's older section was dense, checked old-growth white pine; the newer southern section was installed in 2014.
- Carpenter Lewis Achter with 27 years' experience said under normal spring conditions you could not press a palm into that wood any more than into a sidewalk.
